OAU Student Escapes Assassination Attempt

A student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Taiwo Pelumi, has escaped death by the whiskers, as an assassination attempt on his life proved futile.

Taiwo, a Chemical Engineering student of the University was shot twice on the 12th of April 2013 by some unknown gunmen in Osun State.

It was gathered according to eye-witnesses, that Taiwo Pelumi was making a phone call beside his car when two men suddenly approached him, pushed him to the ground and shot him twice.

It was also gathered that a female student of the same school who was walking towards him at the time of the incident was kidnapped by the gunmen, as they drove away with Taiwo's car.

Taiwo was immediately rushed to the hospital by some Good Samaritans where he is responding well to treatment.

Taiwo who confirmed he is still alive in a message on his Twitter handle, said, "For you all who heard I was shot several times on Friday night, that was me and I am still breathing. Thank Almighty God."
