Suspected cultists besieged the venue of the ongoing examinations at the Tai-Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu-Ijebu in Ogun State on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the suspected cult members stormed the examination hall to protest their exclusion by the school authorities from writing the examination.
The school management had prevented some students who did not pay up their school fees from writing the examinations.
The students in their large number were said to have chased their fellow students and lecturers out of the examination hall, insisting that they must be allowed to write the examination.
The school authority immediately called for help from the Odogbolu Police Station.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ademuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident, and said some arrests were made by the police. He also said investigations have commenced.
The Registrar of the College, Mr. Tunji Kanimodo, said that the state government has approved the expulsion of 26 students due to their various roles in the crisis.
He however stated that examinations would continue as scheduled, adding that appropriate security provisions would be put in place to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
